Eight Lions Selected to CACC Fall All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, CT- The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) has announced its All-Academic team for the 2012-13 fall athletic season. A total of 170 student-athletes among the 14 conference schools, including eight Georgian Court University representatives, have earned a spot on the team this year.

The Lions' selections include: sophomore Anabelle Barinas (VB-Criminal Justice, 3.60 GPA), senior Justine Berger (XC-Special Education, 3.54 GPA), junior Francheska Cedres (VB-Accounting, 3.70 GPA), junior Isalin Howard (XC-Accounting, 3.66 GPA), junior Jaslene Lopez (VB- Sociology, 3.87 GPA), sophomore Kerry Ann Strohmeier (Soccer-Mathematics, 3.72 GPA), senior Cyn-Dee Wong (Soccer-Exercise Science, 3.75 GPA) and sophomore Nicole Way (Tennis-Graphic Design, 4.00 GPA).

A total of 31 student-athletes, including Wong, have earned All-Academic status for the third time. Berger and 63 others were honored for the second time.

In order to be named to the CACC All-American team, recipients must have participated in a CACC Championship sport in the fall. They must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters, and achieve a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.50 or higher through the fall semester.
