COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.- Georgian Court University finished 5th overall (16 total teams) with 58.50 points at Friday’s Collegeville (Pa.) Indoor Classic, hosted by Ursinus College.

The Lions dominated in the Women’s Shot Put with the Lions claiming four of the top-five positions. Tiffany Okieme (Fr.-Bronx, N.Y.) took the top spot with a toss of 13.97m. Senior Alyssa Hudgins (Highland Park, N.J.) took second with her throw of 13.28m. She was followed by teammates Shelby Frink (So.-Baltimore, Md.) and Julie Kerber (Fr.-Lakewood, N.J.), who threw tosses of 11.76m (4th place) and 11.43m (5th), respectively.

Sophomore Chanel Rogers (Jackson, N.J.) finished 1st in both the 60m Hurdle preliminaries (9.04) and finals (9.00). She also placed 2nd as a member of the GCU 4 X 200 Relay (1:49.23), which included teammates Moriah Jennings (Fr.-Ridgewood, N.J.), Jasimen Little (Jr.-Woodbury Heights, N.J.) and Susan Lora (Jr.-Stratford, Conn.).

Freshman Jamie Hand (Howell, N.J.) earned two points for the Lions with a 7th place finish (11:38.97) in the 3000m. Senior Mary Sancilio (Perrineville, N.J.) took second in the High Jump while teammate Lauren Calorel (Sr.-Lanoka Harbor, N.J.) tied for 7th in the same event.

GCU next competes at the NYRR Saturday Night at the Armory II this Saturday in New York City.
