Track & Field Achieves All-Academic Status with Selection to Elite USTFCCCA List ... Calorel Named to Division II All-Academic Team

NEW ORLEANS- The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced the selection of Georgian Court University to its 2010 Division II Track & Field All-Academic Team.

With an overall team GPA of 3.26, the Lions joined 66 other Division II track & field programs on this elite list. To qualify, each squad must have at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA.

Lauren Calorel, with a 3.60 GPA, was GCU's lone selection and one of 276 total student-athletes to earn selection to the individual USTFCCCA Division II All-Academic Team.
 
To qualify, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Division II Indoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard or participated in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships (including preliminary rounds) in their respective event.

Lauren became the first GCU Track & Field student-athlete to provisionally qualify for the NCAA Division II Championships with a qualifying high jump mark of 5'6" in her final attempt of the day back on April 3rd during the Lions Invitational.
