LAKEWOOD, NJ- The Georgian Court University tennis squad has been selected sixth in the 2010 CACC Preseason Coaches Poll, released today. In a ballot conducted by the conference's nine head coaches, the Lions (6-12, 3-5 CACC in 2009) garnered 39 points.
Led by head coach Adrienne Ballingall, GCU looks to return to the CACC postseason a year after not qualifying for the conference tournament for the first time since the event's inception in 2005. Key returnees include seniors
Brittany Aimone and
Natalie Grieci, as well as sophomores
Sarah Lockenmeyer and
Victoria Gaffney.
Lockenmeyer led the Lions with nine victories in singles play last season.
Concordia College has been picked to repeat as CACC champions in 2010, followed by Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Philadelphia University and Chestnut Hill College to complete the Top-5.
Georgian Court looks to get off to a fast start when they commence the season on Tuesday, September 7th at Millersville University in Millersville, PA.
