BROOKVILLE, NY- Georgian Court University softball's
Brooke Hull (Designated Player),
Rachel Ruch (2B) and
Diana Sansevera (P) have been rewarded for their stellar 2010 campaigns with each earning a place on the Daktronics East All-Region Second Team, as voted by the region's sports information directors.
Hull (So.), also a member of the 2010 All-CACC First-Team, posted a .351 batting average with 10 home runs and a team-leading 63 RBI for the Lions. The Nazareth, PA native also played an integral role in the circle for Georgian Court as the club's number two starter, collecting a 9-4 record and two saves (3.32 ERA) in 21 appearances (12 starts).
Ruch (So.), an All-CACC First-Team and CACC All-Tournament selection, as well as the GCU Athlete of the Year, avoided any sign of a sophomore jinx, batting a team-leading .399 to go along with her roster-high 75 hits and CACC-record 23 doubles.The Edison, NJ native also led the conference with 136 total bases while ranking among the CACC leaders with 10 home runs, four triples, 14 stolen bases, 22 walks, .460 on-base percentage and .723 slugging percentage.
Sansevera (Jr.), the 2009 Daktronics East Region Pitcher of the Year, again served as the Lions' workhorse in the circle, topping all CACC pitchers with 26 wins (26-11), 247.0 innings pitched, 287 strikeouts, 46 appearances, three saves, 37 games started and 30 complete games. The Manalapan, NJ native also earned selection to the All-CACC Second Team and the CACC All-Tournament Team.
The 2010 campaign came to a close for GCU (39-19) last Saturday as the Lions went 1-2 in the NCAA Division II East Regional Tournament in West Haven, CT. Georgian Court made its fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.
