The Georgian Court University middle-distance runners came up big as the Lions re-established every school record from the 400-1500m at Saturday’s TCNJ Invitational.
Justine Berger (pictured) led the Lions in breaking her own school record in the 1500m with a time of 4:55.47. Not finished yet, she came back hours later to run down teammate Krystal Belcher in the final 20m to set a record in the 800m of 2:25.40. Belcher also broke the old school record, running 2:25.77.
Allison Landry finished under the old 1500m school record, but also behind Berger, as she notched a 5:01.1 her fastest time of the year by over 15 seconds. Classmate Cynthia Cuiule also had a personal best time of 5:10.
Classmates Christine Gorczyca and Amy Berry waged a great battle for the school record in the javelin with both breaking Berry’s old record. Gorczyca’s toss of 113' 6" was a lifetime best, enough to get by Berry’s 110' 11".
Also breaking school records on the day was Justine Elardo in the 400m with a time of 1:01.79 and the 4x100 relay team of Lauren Calorel, Skye Thompson, Elardo and Erin Frye in 52.69.
Alyssa Hudgins had two personal bests as she threw a distance of 40'3.75" in the shot put and 118'2" in the discus.
