Lions Lax Cruises to 15-3 Victory over SCSU

BRICK, NJ- The Georgian Court University lacrosse team cruised to its second victory of the 2010 campaign Monday afternoon, defeating Southern Connecticut State University by a 15-3 score in a game that took place at the Veterans Memorial Sports Complex.

The outcome was never in doubt for the Lions (2-0) as they took a 9-0 nothing advantage into halftime. For the second straight contest, Lauren Conaty registered five goals to lead the GCU offense. Natalie Bermudez, Laura Housel and Kara Sanford drilled two goals apiece.

Christine Latteri earned her second victory in net for Georgian Court, collecting three saves in a little over 49 minutes (49:45). 

The Owls, playing their first game of the year, fall to 0-1.

GCU welcomes St. Thomas Aquinas College for a 3:30 PM matchup this Thursday as the Lions play its first true "home game" of the year on the Lakewood campus.
