NEW HAVEN, CT- The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference announced today that Georgian Court University softballers,
Rachel Ruch and
Diana Sansevera have been selected as this season's first CACC Player and Pitcher of the week, respectively.
Ruch, the Lions' second baseman and 2009 CACC Rookie of the Year, had an outstanding start to the 2010 campaign, batting .511 (24-for-47) with 18 RBI, 15 runs scored, 10 doubles, three homers, a triple and .957 slugging percentage in 12 games last week at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida.
Sansevera,last season's CACC Pitcher of the Year, tallied five victories and two saves (5-1) in nine appearances (six starts) at the Rebel Games. Georgian Court's ace allowed 22 runs (13 ER) on 43 hits and nine walks, while striking out 31 opponents in 42.1 innings pitched.
GCU (9-3) takes to the diamond again on Wednesday, March 17th, when they host Millersville University at 3:00 PM.
