GCU Dropped by #17 Holy Family University, 70-37

LAKEWOOD, NJ- The Georgian Court University basketball team fell to #17 Holy Family University, 70-37, Tuesday evening at the GCU Wellness Center for their worst defeat of the season.

The Lions (6-13, 4-8 CACC) shot only 22.2% from the field (14-for-63) while the Tigers shot 43.9% (29-for-66).

Holy Family's Catherine Carr (Jr.-Bedminster, NJ) dazzled with 16 points, nine assists and seven rebounds in 32 minutes. Senior Christine McCollum (Abington, PA) dropped in 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds in 30 minutes of play while junior Meghan Gibson (Philadelphia, PA) dropped 10 points and snared five boards in 29 minutes.

Dana Wert (Fr.-pictured) led the Lions with 10 points in a 40-minute effort. Teammate Dee Varley (Sr.) led GCU with seven rebounds.

Holy Family remains perfect vs. CACC opponents with an 11-0 record (18-1 overall).

Georgian Court takes it to the road this Thursday with a 6:00 PM contest at Philadelphia University. The Lady Rams defeated GCU, 80-68, in "The Well' back on January 7th.
