Georgian Court Athletics

WILMINGTON, DE- A coast-to-coast layup by Goldey-Beacom's Devonne Richardson (Fr.-Baltimore, MD) with four seconds remaining in the game solidified a 52-51 Lightning victory over Georgian Court University Thursday evening at the Joseph West Jones Center.

The Lions (8-15, 6-10 CACC) were led by Shawna Wert's 16 points and Dee Varley's (pictured) 16 points and eight rebounds. The loss places GCU three games behind Wilmington University in the loss column for the final South playoff spot with three games to go. 

Richardson totaled nine points and a game-high 10 rebounds for Goldey-Beacom (13-10, 9-6 CACC) while teammate Jacinda Jones (So.-Claymont, DE) led all scorers with 19 points in 31 minutes.

GCU looks to rebound when they travel to Dominican College (11-13, 8-8 CACC) Saturday afternoon for a 1:00 PM contest.
