GCU Student-Athletes Flex Muscle During Saturday's "Move-In" Day

Flat-screen TVs, mini-refrigerators and computers were just a few of the items Georgian Court University’s student-athletes moved into St. Joseph and Maria Halls on Saturday morning's "Move-In" Day.  If you ventured onto the campus over the weekend, you were greeted by bright orange shirts stating “Property of GCU Athletics”.  As part of the SA's campus-wide community service project, over 130 student-athletes took part in first-year student move-in, Aug 22nd.

Many parents were pleasantly surprised by groups of 10-12 athletes to help unload their cars, trucks and vans.  “The move in crew did a fantastic job.  They were friendly and laughing and made everyone feel welcome,” said Glen Gouveia, maintenance supervisor.  The “Move In Crew” volunteered from 8am to 2pm meeting new families and welcoming them to campus and lending a helping hand. “The move in was absolutely amazing. I was particularly pleased with the design star team and it was by far, the best move in we have ever had,” stated associate provost, Evelyn Quinn.
