Former GCU softballer, Michelle DePolo ('03), recently made news this spring when she was named Army's head softball coach, the first female coach for the program since it joined the Division I ranks. Her story was featured in the summer edition of the NCAA's publication,
Champion.
During her playing days at Georgian Court, DePolo pitched for the Lions along with alternating between the infield and outfield when not in the circle. The two-year captain led her team to three National Tournament appearances, four Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference titles, three Region X championships along with an ECAC crown.
The three-sport athlete, who also earned three letters in basketball and one in soccer, graduated from Georgian Court in 2003 with a degree in English. A Dean’s List student every semester, she was named a Presidential Scholar and a National Dean’s List recipient.
