GCU Trio Named to CACC Spring All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, CT- The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) announced its All-Academic team for the 2009 spring athletic season today. Three Georgian Court University student-athletes earned a spot on this elite list, including junior softball player Chelsea Long (Exercise Science-3.51 GPA) and lacrosse players, junior Alley Abbate  Business Administration-3.71 GPA) and sophomore Jilian Pennington (Biology-3.58 GPA).

For Abbate, this is her second All-Academic selection of 2008-09. She earned a spot on the fall squad as a member of the CACC-champion GCU soccer team.

In order to be named to the CACC All-Academic team, recipients must have participated in a CACC Championship sport this past spring. They must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student at their current school for at least two semesters, and achieve a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.50 or higher through the fall semester.
