Lions XC Places 10th in NCAA Championship East Regional ...Berger Selected to All-East Region Team

BOSTON, MA- The Georgian Court University XC squad will end the season regionally ranked for the second straight season as the Lions finished in 10th place at Sunday's 2009 NCAA Championship East Regional at Franklin Park in Boston, Massachusetts.
GCU freshman sensation, Justine Berger completed the course 13th overall (out of 178) with a time of 23:31.6. For her efforts, Berger earned a spot on the NCAA All-East Region team. The ’09 CACC Rookie of the Year and seven-time CACC Rookie of the Week was GCU’s top finisher in all nine meets this season.
Following Berger across the finish line was fellow freshman Cynthia Cuiule (56th, 25:18.3), Ammy Gutierrez (Jr., 63rd, 25:26.7), sophomore Krystal Belcher (96th, 26:31.3), Christie Gallant (Jr.,107th, 26:49.9), senior Emilia Lopez (126th, 27:30.0) and Allison Landry (Fr.-135th, 28:04.1).
The Lions concluded the 2008 season with an eighth place finish in the regional meet.
